ANGRA, SEPULTURA In São Paulo; Interview, Performance Footage Available
May 13, 2009ANGRA ended its two-year hiatus by teaming up with fellow Brazilian metallers SEPULTURA for a massive tour of Brazil and the rest of Latin America. The trek, which kicked off on May 5 in Porto Alegre, included a May 9, 2009 stop at Via Funchal in São Paulo where the two bands joined forces on stage to play a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Immigrant Song".
Showlivre.com's "Radar" program went backstage at the São Paulo concert and interviewed both bands for a two-part report which can be seen below. (Note: Entire report is in Portuguese. Performance footage is included.)
ANGRA's current touring lineup includes returning drummer Ricardo Confessori, who has stepped in for the departed Aquiles Priester.
ANGRA's most recent CD, "Aurora Consurgens", was mixed in 2006 at the House Of Audio studios in Germany under the guidance of longtime producer Dennis Ward. All the tracking took place at the Via Musique Estúdios, in São Paulo with Thiago Bianchi as the assistant producer. Dennis then flew back to Germany and mixed the material, which was mastered by the renowned Finnish producer Mika Jussila.
"A-Lex" — SEPULTURA's first LP to be recorded without either of the founding Cavalera brothers (Max and Igor; on guitar/vocals and drums, respectively) — is available in three versions: in a deluxe digipak with an embossed cover, in a regular jewel case and on a vinyl gatefold LP.
On "A-Lex", SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser and his three colleagues, Derrick Green (vocals),Paulo Jr. (bass) and new addition Jean Dollabella (drums),have dedicated themselves to Anthony Burgess's book "A Clockwork Orange", creating an awesome thrash metal opus around this timeless and exciting subject.
